Year 5 homework for Friday 23rd October

Date: 15th Oct 2026 @ 11:26am

The homework for Y5 this week is below. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Weekly homework:

Reading to an adult 3x a week – remember to log this on Pageticker.  It is great seeing all the wonderful reading happening at home.  You can also access Reading Plus and Lexia at home.

Spellings – we are continuing to recap all the spellings we have learnt this half-term:

  • words with the silent b: comb, thumb, climbed, bombing, limbs, tomb, crumb, doubted, subtlest.
  • words with the suffix -ible: possible, impossible, horrible, sensible, visible, invisible, reversible, responsible, edible, legible.
  • Words with suffix-able: dependable, reliable, noticeable, adorable, comfortable, likeable, noticeable, reasonable, valuable.

Maths – Everyone has been set homework on TTRS.  It is really important we continue practising our times tables and use the flashcards if you have been given those too.

New homework (Black History Month)- Which black artist did you prefer and why: Bob Marley or Heather Small?  Are there any other black artists which you enjoy listening to and can you explain why?

Wilbraham Question of the Week – What did you learn about the word community from listening to the story?
