Welcome to Year 4!

 

Staffing

There are 3 classes in Year 4; Class 4S, 4ST and 4E. The teachers are, Ms Stapleton, Miss Sumner, and Mr Eccles. They will be supported is class by, Miss Galyna, Mrs Richards, Mrs Rehman. Ms Hulston and Ms Barlow will also be covering PPA.

Autumn 1 

Maths – Recap of column addition and subtraction. Secure place value to 1000 apply to addition and subtraction using multiples of 100. 

Literacy – Writing a charater description using an extract from George's Marvellous Medecine. Writing an encyclopedia page using our science topic.

  • Music –  Ancient Worlds
  • PSHE – What are our strengths skills and interest?
  • PE –  Dance/Gymnastics Invasion Games Skills
  • MFL – French
  • RE – What can we learn from religions about deciding between right and wrong? Focus: Judaism, Christianity, and Humanism.
  • Art – Portraits

Key Information

  • Reading Records & Reading books – please bring these daily and ensure you are reading with your child at least 3x per week. 
  • PE Days 4E – Wednesday & Friday (Swimming)
  • PE Days 4S – Wednesday & Friday (Swimming)
  • PE Days 4ST Monday & Wednesday
  • PE kit (Indoor) – Plain white t-shirt, navy, or black shorts/leggings. NO TIGHTS Please.
  • PE kit (outdoor) – Plain jumper, navy, or black leggings/joggers/shorts and trainers
  • School starts at 8:45am
