Summer 1 - 2026
Literacy
This term we are learning all about the season of spring. We will learn vocabulary through stories, songs and rhymes and use texts and practical experience to learn about the changes that occur in spring. As spring is the season of growth, we will have a go at planting our own plants and watch how they grow. We will base a lot of our learning on the book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".
Maths
For our Maths development we will be learning about the number 10 and the different ways it can be made.
We will use our shoe box tasks to develop our problem solving skills.
We will practise our skills as a class and through play and continue to work on our individual targets.
Personal, social and emotional development
This term our topic is Healthy Eating. We will be learning about which foods are good for us. We will explore these foods with our senses and find out how they grow. We will incorporate healthy food in our arts and crafts..
Physical development
We will be: exploring our outdoor environments: the playground, the astro and the forest area, joining in PE and music and movement activities to develop our motor skills and coordination. We will be concentrating on developing our gross and fine motor skills, through pushing and pulling activities and learning to eat with utensils.
Communication and language development
We will be: working on our speech and language targets and learning to use symbols, signs and words to communicate our needs. We will develop our language through songs, rhymes, stories and play.
