Year 5 homework for Friday 11th September

Date: 10th Sep 2026 @ 12:50pm

The homework for Y5 this week is below. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Weekly homework –

Reading to an adult 3x a week – remember to log this on Pageticker.  It is great seeing all the wonderful reading happening at home.  You can also access Reading Plus and Lexia.

Spellings this week we have been learning words with the silent b: comb, thumb, climbed, bombing, limbs, tomb, crumb, doubted, subtlest.  The red/orange words are: bruise, community, through, apparent, increase, building

Maths – keep practising your times tables on TTRS and the flashcards if you’ve been given those.

New homework (Geography)- Have a chat with an adult about somewhere you have visited in the UK or look for somewhere you would like to visit.  Can you find it on a map (you can use Google Maps)?  Can you describe its location using compass directions?  How far is it from Manchester?  How far is it from Devon?

Wilbraham Question of the Week – What did you learn about Rosh Hashanah from listening to the story?
