I have attached two stories today. You can choose which story you would like to listen to today. Before you listen to one, have a look at the front cover and think about what the story might be about. We call this 'predict' and it means to 'have a good guess'.
Which one did you choose?
Why did you choose that one?
Did you get your prediction right?
Today is...…..Tuesday. That's right you got it correct! That means yesterday was...…..Monday and tomorrow will be …Wednesday which means it's back to school! Yay!!! I need some help today. I have put the days of the week in order but I don't think I have done it right. Can you help me to write the days of the week in the correct order? Have a look at the link to help with spelling if you need it. If not you can cut the days of the week out and stick them in the right order. After this task, I would then like you to pick two days of the week and say and write a sentence using them. It can be a made up sentence or a true sentence.
One of my sentences is
On Wednesday I went to the park
For maths today you have some incorrect more than>, less than < and equal to = expressions to look at. It is your job to find the mistakes in the expressions and then write the correct expression.

Good morning Year 1. Only two more sleeps until we are back at school and we get to see you all again!! We hope you have had a lovely weekend. Today, we are going to be looking at days of the week. I have found a catchy song for you to listen to and to help you remember the order of days in the week. You might have your own way of remembering them which is good too. We have just had the weekend so I would like you to pick a day from the weekend and write a sentence about what you did. Remember to use either the word Saturday or Sunday in your sentence.
Have I got my days of the week in the right order?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
In Maths today, Mrs Wright is going to explain to you some ways to fill in missing numbers and symbols in more than>, less than< and equal to = expressions. Click on the link below and follow her lesson, then there are 2 tasks for you to complete.
Good morning Year 1! We hope you had a lovely weekend. Welcome back to our online learning on Google Classroom. We can't wait to see you all again at school on Wednesday. So let's get started with today's online learning by joining in with the Wake Up Dance.
We would like you to listen to this story called Ruby's Worry, by Tom Percival. Listen to the story and think about a time when you might have had a worry, whether it was little or big. What was that worry? Did you do anything to help the worry to go away? Did anyone help you to sort out the worry? After listening to the story, we hope you feel that if you ever have any worries, there are lots of people that can listen to you and help you with how you are feeling. You might want to talk to one of your special or important people at home or at school. So don't worry, we are all here to help each other feel safe and happy.#
60 second challenge. You can play this with an adult, your brother, sister or on your own. Use a countdown timer on a phone or ipad or someone can time you using their watch. The aim of the challenge is to throw a ball up in the air and clap your hands before you catch it. How many times can you clap and catch? If you don't have a ball you can use things such as balled up socks, a teddy bear, a small cushion or anything else you may have at home. What skills do you think you will need to be able to do this challenge? I am going to try it this morning and I will let you know how I get on. You can try it with someone and compare your results.
