Here is this week's home learning. This resource is for anyone who would like ideas for activities to do at home that are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage or if you are self isolating and are well.
The activities on the sheet are the same as what we will be doing in class this week. Click on the link below to open the document. Have fun!
I'm really looking forward to being back in school tomorrow and seeing you all. Hope you're all well and keeping safe.
Today's first task is a fun maths task. You need 3 rockets and 6 stars.I made mine from paper and had fun decorating them. You can use anything! Boxes could be rockets and Lego could be stars.
Then you have to imagine that when you let the rockets off, stars come out of them.
I have called my rockets a,b,and c. My pattern is called a3,b1,c2. Can you see why?
Rocket a has 3stars coming off it. Rocket b has 1 star and rocket c has 2 stars.
There are lots of ways of arranging the stars and your job is to find some different ways.
Can you name the patterns?
Maths - Number hunt!
We love looking out for numbers in our environment in reception. This afternoon it's time for a number hunt! You could look for numbers inside your house or go for a walk near where you live with a grown up and see what numbers you can spot.
Can you write a list of all of the numbers you find?
Look at the photo below for some ideas of where you might spot some numbers...
Expressive Arts and Design - Fireworks Song
Good morning reception,
You are doing a great job learning all about Bonfire night this week. I was so impressed with your art work yesterday!
Today I am going to share a song with you that I like to teach my class every year around bonfire night. It is really easy to learn because it is sung to the same tune as "The wheels on the bus". I wonder if you and your grown ups at home can learn the song together and make up some actions to go with it? You might even want to make up your own song or poem about fireworks. I would love to see some videos!
Click below to see the words to the "Fireworks Song"...
Let's get creative!! Take a look at my Art. What do you think I have made? Here's a clue, it's bonfire night related!
I have used materials from around my home to create some firework art- towels, t-shirts, socks, tissue paper, and medals.
What materials and objects will you use to create your firework or bonfire art?
I look forward to seeing your amazing photos. Please email them to me firstname.lastname@example.org
Bonfire night safety.
Today we will be looking at how to stay safe on bonfire night.
Take a look at the short videos from Fireman Sam. He has lots of great tips on how to stay safe during bonfire night.
There are 10 short clips to watch. Once you have watched them chat with your grown up about what you will be doing on bonfire night and how you plan to stay safe!
