Each Nursery class takes a visit to forest school once a week. We love taking our learning outdoors and this week we explored tree rubbing and digging in the mud!
We took out some paper and crayons and explored what happened when we rubbed the crayons over the tree bark. We also took some leaves back with us to see what happened when we drew over the leafs. It made some lovely patterns!
As our topic is ‘celebrations’ we learnt all about Diwali, the festival of lights! We made some beautiful Rangoli patterns using transient art pieces and colourful pieces of paper. We also made our own Diya lamps using salt dough and paint. We were very proud of how these turned out and took them home with us!
Our story of the week...Pete the Cat !
We did lots of fun activities around our new story 'Pete the Cat'. We have been reading the story aloud lots of time so we can make up our own actions and repeat the words we know!
We even got to make some pizzas adding fruit from the story. We used chocolate spread for the mud and strawberries and blueberries for our topping. It was really yummy!
We also did some painting of the fruits from the story after we had taste tested them.
