Hello Nursery families and a very happy Tuesday to all of you at home! I hope you all joined in with our morning song :)
Let's continue our day with a stretch and another one of our favourite songs.
Make sure you have a little bit of room to move.

Click here for your morning Yoga

Task 1
Our new topic this term is called ' Amazing Animals'. Click the video link below to hear Ms Lindsay   reading a story to begin our new topic. You can listen to it as many times as you want to. At the end ,
can you tell your grown up what your favourite animal is from the book? Why do you like it? You could post your answer in the comments below. If you have this book at home you can join in with Ms Lindsay reading it.

Task 2 - Phonics
Environmental sounds

We are going to play a listening game. Listen to the noises Ms Lindsay makes. Can you say the name of the animal / object that makes that noise  or point to the correct picture  on the screen.
Make sure you are using your listening ears.
This activity will help the child to tune into different sounds in the environment.  This will prepare them for learning phonics sounds.
After the activity you could go on a listening walk around your house. What sounds can you hear?
Where was the sound coming from?

Activity 3
Today we read the story 'Dear  Zoo'  by Rod Campbell. We met lots of different animals in the story.
Below  you can vote for the animal that you would like to learn more about.

Vote for the animal you want to  know more about.

Tick the animal you want to vote for.

Hi, Miss McKenzie, Sarah misses the school. She enjoyed all the activities so far. In today’s activities her favourite animal is the monkey. She said that the monkey eats banana like her. She found lots of sounds around our house and she liked tik tik sound from the clock.

Ayaan really enjoyed listening to the story! It is one of His favorites. His favorite animal from the book was a puppy because it was so nice and wasn’t scary. He liked doing the listening activity with Miss Lindsay. He walked around the house and heard cars going past outside. They were making zoom whoosh noises.

Thank you!
Izzy loved listening to the story and her favourite animal was the monkey because she likes to jump around as well. She went round the house listening to noises, in the kitchen she heard her baby brother wriggling around and the tick tick of the clock. When we went for a walk today we saw and heard some birds, we also heard some squelching when we walked through the muddy puddles.
