Good Morning Nursery
We hope you enjoyed yesterday's activities!
Today we have  three new activities for you, as you begin to settle into using our online learning.

First let's sing a good morning song to start our day.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9Q7Y3t4m3g
,
Activity 1 - Winter is all around

It's very cold outside today, that's because it is Winter!

1)Can you talk about what happens in winter?
(Bare branches, no sign yet of animals who are still hibernating, the weather is get colder, we wear warm clothes)

2) What can you see out of your window today?

I can see frost and ice! I can see my breath in the cold air. The mornings are dark and it's also dark at bed time.

At home, you could continue to practise putting your coat and shoes on and off by yourself. Attempt to put on gloves, hats and scarves.
You could also practise getting dressed and undressed, with only a little help from your special adult. (This will helpful for when we get ready for PE in Nursery!)

Activity 2- Mark Making

Can you draw a snowman? Look at the pictures to help you.
How many eyes, nose, arms, hats does it need?

Challenge: Can you label it with some marks /letter shapes for your name? Ask a grown up to write your name and you copy it.

Activity 3- Reading Time with Miss Rigby
Pete the Cat is one of our favourite stories that we explored last term, so I'd love for you to join in with the song and show your grown-up your story actions . You could watch this along with a snack , or even as your bedtime story. Can you remember ;
+ Which fruits did Pete step in?
+ Why did Pete's shoes turn back to white?
and let us know your favourite colour of shoes , in the comments.

Remember, we would love to hear from you and support in any way that we can:

Hi Nawal ,
I'm glad that you liked the story, green is a great colour, maybe if Pete stepped in grapes they would turn his shoes green. Have a lovely day and watch the story as many times as you like xx

Hi miss Rigby.
Ahmad had so much listening to you sing and he was singing along with you.
Ahmad says: Pete stepped in blueberries and strawberries.
Pete stepped in a large bucket of water that is why his shoes went white.
Ahmad loves his red spider man wellies because they have flashy lights.

Hi Ahmad! Thank you so much for commenting and for emailing me a picture of your snowman drawing. I remember that you loved exploring this story in Nursery and acting it out with the Pete puppet. Well done for listening so carefully and remembering what happened. Your Spider-Man wellies sound awesome ! Miss Rigby xx
