Forest School is amazing. You will be thrilled when your day is finished. You do so much it’s hard to remember it all but the best thing is sitting with your new friends, drinking hot chocolate and eating biscuits. (Mia) Forest school is so fun I wish we could go everyday! I cannot wait to go again my favourite thing is everything I wish it didn’t end I liked the hot chocolate and the food. (Callum) Forest school teaches you how to enjoy nature and improve your confidence and overcome your inabilities. It makes me feel opened to nature and free to be in a diffrent world.(Ayman) This is how our group felt this week. They were given new skills to learn and challenges to face and did so admirably! They still have a session to go. Enjoy the pictures!

This year we are going to get a lot more children attending Forest School sessions. We have 48 children this half term alone, with a view to increasing that number next half term. We want all children to be able to enjoy the huge benefits of being outdoors and experiencing being in the woods. After the initial risk assessment and a long time playing warm up games, it was time to tie a timber hitch and put up a tarpaulin to make a shelter. Then a quick lesson in using loppers before sitting down by the fire for our lunch. Some time to make a swing … Was followed by a walk to explore, climb, scramble and enjoy! Finally, a great picture by Mia . Thanks for a great day!The first day for a new group was a great success. A game of trust to get us going. No better way to get to know somebody. Some quick instructions are followed by our shelter building using ropes, timber hitches, tarpaulins, string and newly found tent pegs. Then it was time for lunch in our shelters or around the fire. This gave us an excuse for a hot chocolate too! After a discussion about what we want to do in the afternoon, it’s tidy up time . Then we went exploring, climbing, scrambling, swinging and admiring the view. Can’t wait for next time.
