Today, Mr Marchant and Mr Eccles took their group out to the forest for the second time. The weather was much kinder this week and the children enjoyed a different perspective on the forest. Lemur, Mohamed D, Siyal, Bianca, Ibrahim, Remas, Nuradin, Zariff, Mohamed A, and Sebastian decided that they wanted to find their own place to set up camp. They chose a fantastic sheltered spot. The group were able to remember the skills they had learnt on the previous visit to create some fantastic shelter that protected us from the breeze. Once they had set up camp they went for a walk to the climbing area, where they were able to attempt a number of tricky climbs and even build a rope swing. Once back at camp they build model villages and enjoyed a well earned hot chocolate around the fire, before returning to school.

Today's group was Ifra, Amira, Soma, Osahon, Bobby, Jabran, Yasin, Julia, Maheen, Poppy and Ahmed Bilal. Unfortunately, Valentine was unwell and couldn't come. Ms. Molla also came for her first visit. The weather held and we managed a full day of games, shelter building, hot chocolate over lunch and then a long walk to climb, scramble and explore. we're already looking forward to the next time with our new friends! Today was a day full of new experiences. Mr Marchant and Mr Eccles took their first groups into the forest. It was a misty and cold day but all of the children had a fantastic experience. It was exciting seeing the forest covered in mist! We were able to discuss what we might be able to see next time we go! We built shelters, learning how to tie some tricky knots, had a fire, and went for a walk to the 'edge'
Over 100 children have now accessed our Forest School programme and this group was just as excited as the first. It was Daanya, Eiman, Mariyah, Mohammed, Scarlett, Dua, Wahida, Krish, Evan, Emma, Szymon and Shad. Ms. McAdam also came along for the first time. The weather was kind and it was warm enough and didn't rain. It was very wet underfoot as our cliothes showed at the end of the day. But what a great day we had! We would go back today if we could!! |
