What a wonderful day working with the Forest Rangers.
We have been busy learning how to make bird boxes that will then go up around the forest to help the birds nest over the coming months.
We watched how to put the bird boxes together first before going off to work in our pairs to build our own. We worked super safely with our equipment and finished the morning with not one hammered thumb!!!!!
We started the new year off with a gorgeous day in the forest today.
We had so much fun exploring our forest school space. We worked brilliantly as a group to make our shelters for lunch. We then enjoyed a lovely cup of hot chocolate to warm ourselves up before heading off to find Waterfall woods.
We have discovered as a group we absolutely love water!! We found the waterfall and had an amazing time climbing down to it - might be a better description to say sliding our way down to it!!! Before splashing our way through it. We then followed the stream through the forest, doing our best to balance our way across the rocks not without a few fall downs - splash!!
Today we were able to get away for a lovely one-off visit to the Alderly Edge forest! Everyone was ready after we had done a practice-run in the on-site area the week before; and we were able to put our exploring, building and climbing skills safely to the test. The watery areas were frozen over, and we had lots of fun breaking up the ice with sticks. The day started off a little frosty and cold, but with our extra layers we felt very warm and comfortable. Great work everyone!
We began our time in the forest by exploring together and getting to know one another.
Today we had lots of fun making picture frames and representations of ourselves. Can you spot the eyes and mouths?
What a wonderful day for exploring the forest. We found some wonderful things growing and hiding in the forest today. Can you recognise any of them?
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
