Please can we remind you to check our blog on Fridays for updates and so you can see what wonderful things we have been doing!!!
We have had another amazing week to bring our first half term to an end. We have been so busy all term and are very much looking forward to a well deserved rest!
We have worked very hard and here are some pictures to prove it!
We have done lots of maths this week. We are becoming amazing counters and will soon be able to count all the way to 20.
A trip to the library
We had lots of fun listening to a story in the library and even got to take a book home to keep forever!
We also had a fabulous time learning all about the celebration of Diwali. We learned about Rama and Sita and the battle of the monkeys. We also made Diva lights that shine and sparkle so lovely and bright. We had a fab time making them!
Can we take a moment to wish you all a lovely, safe and relaxing break. We have had an amazing first half term and look forward to what next half term may bring!
We have got one more week to go that brings us to the end of an amazing first term in reception. Last week we completed lots of amazing activities and tasks that helped us in our learning. We continued to work on our book Room on a broom. Here are some of the amazing activities!!!
Broom stick races
We flew as fast as we could across the astro and tried to beat our friends in the super witch championship races!
We mixed together baking soda, vinegar, glitter, washing up liquid and food colouring. We made our own potions that exploded!!!!
We worked on our cutting skills and cut out different shapes to make witches. We looked at a picture to show us what the finished withes should look like.
We had so much fun using rolling pins and golf tee to smash holes into our pumpkins. Activities like this help to develop our fine motor skills.
We have had lots of fun again this week in reception. We have been working hard in lots of different ways. This week we discussed our favorite TV programmes. We did this by talking in talk partners and sharing our ideas with the class.
After we discussed our favorite programmes we then used democracy to vote for our class favorite.
We also had a go at working on the ICT software 'busy things'. We had lots of fun completing maths games. It is sometimes hard to take turns and wait patiently but this is something we are all working on.
The most exciting thing this week has been our new role play area! We are so excited to be able to play in our very own Mc Donalds.
