For two fabulous weeks the whole school having been doing lots of work and activities linked to the book lost and found. We have really enjoyed the book and though it had a very nice ending. Maybe you could read the book with your child so you can see why we liked the ending.
Our fabulous writing
Everyone is RC did a piece of penguin writing. In our writing we included lots of fun facts that we had learnt about penguins. We really enjoyed doing this and loved finding out lots of information we did not know. Did you know that some penguins like warm weather?
Our surprise visitors
The most exciting thing to have happened in the last two weeks is when we got some very special visitors. We could not believe that some real, life penguins visited our school. It was such an amazing morning and we got to ask lots of questions all about the special little penguins.
This week we also did some helicopter stories. We love to do helicopter stories as it helps our listening skills and help to boost our confidence. It also gives us the opportunity to show off our amazing acting techniques and our awesome imaginations.
During helicopter stories we read a story that has been written by a child from another school. As the story is being read we go round the story taking turns to ask as the characters and parts of the settings. Once we have all had a turn some of us get picked to tell our own story and the rest of the class take turns acting out the roles. We LOVE it! It is SO much fun.
We absolutely love playing games in our class. We like to play duck, duck goose and detectives. Our favorite game is called Zombie. Somebody is the Zombie and they have to get another child in the class. before the zombie gets to you, you have to say another persons name and then the zombie will get them instead.
Our wonderful learning journeys
We loved looking at our learning journeys today. We were so surprised at how much we have grown since our first day. We were shocked to see how much our writing had changed. Some of us didn't remember doing the writing at the beginning of the year and even said "we didn't do that". It was sooooo nice to remember some of the amazing activities we have done throughout the year.
Hot seating challenge
This week we have been reading the story the princess and the wizard. We have really enjoyed this book and have done lots of activities linked to it. One activity we really enjoyed was the hot seating challenge. This was when somebody in the class pretending to be the wizard and the rest of the class took turn asking questions. It was so much fun and the children who went in the hot seat were very brave!!!
The Royal Wedding
This week there is a very special wedding happening. Prince Harry is getting married to his future Princess Megan Markle. To celebrate this joyous occasion we have a school fun day. We did lots of fun activities like making crowns and then we had an afternoon of fun, fun, fun!
RF love doing our weekly gymnastic sessions. We are all amazing at climbing on the big climbing frame. Each week we get braver and braver as we travel further to the top of the equipment.

A few reminders!!!!
Can we please, please, please stress the importance of making sure your child has his/her P.E kit in every week. we highly recommend that this is brought in on a Monday and stays in all week. Your child's gymnastic day is Tuesday and Manchester city training is on Wednesday.
HOWEVER we must stress that this can sometimes change and so having their P.E kit on their peg for the WHOLE week is very important.
Next term we will be changing our topic to Zoo animals. We will be going on a whole recpetion school trip to Chester Zoo. This will happen on the first Monday back - Monday 26th February. Can we politely remind any parents who have not paid for the trip to please do so. thank you very much to all parents that have already paid.

Anchor with George
We are also delighted to have started our Anchor sessions with George. We had so much fun learning about the letters of the alphabet and the different sounds letters make. George has a guitar and if we are lucky we get to help him play it. This week Kayandra was the lucky person who got to have a turn. We can not wait for next Thursday!
Can we just take a second to remind you of a few things that you need to remember for this term?
Children will need a full P.E kit(white t shirt, black or blue shorts and trainers/pumps) in school on a Monday to be left until Friday. This ensures that your child will have the correct kit and will be able to join in with our Physical education sessions. We can not stress how important this is for your child. Please please please make sure they have the correct kit available for them to wear.
Thank you for your co operation in this matter! we look forward to sharing the fun we have next week with you.
