Build a park using only classroom craft materials.
The winner is the one with the most comments on here, 😁
Well, we are practising the songs for the upcoming Year 6 play a lot in class at the moment. It’s so hot, I fear some of the children may be going a little crazy in the heat! Thank you to these two boys for entertaining us this morning! 😂
Thank you to those of you who joined us this morning for our Run and Read session. The sun was shining and we began our morning with our usual Daily Mile to get our hearts beating and clear our minds for focus.
Today we began exploring the amazing picture book ‘Flotsam’ by David Weisner. It is the story of an underwater camera that is washed ashore and discovered by a boy... we looked at the images and thought about what we could see and infer about the story.
There were some fishy goings on in Year 5 on our return to school after half term! Feathers, footprints and ice in the classroom?
We deduced that some sort of bird... with black and white feathers, who liked the cold and had webbed feet, had visited us in our absence!
For the next two weeks, we looked at the book ‘Lost and FoundK by Oliver Jeffers. It’s a lovely story about friendship and we have done some great work around it!
We even had REAL penguins come into school to visit us... I think we all wanted to take one home!
To celebrate the upcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, we had a day of fun and festivities... Have a look at our photos!
Whilst Year 6 have been doing their SATs, 5G have been working in the computer suite every morning... So we thought we would use our computing skills to create some power points using research from the internet. Have a look! These really stood out!
Our Friday maths sessions get us moving! This week, we had an angle challenge. The children worked in groups to find missing angles using what they know about angles on a straight line or in a triangle. The teamwork was excellent! Well done 5G and well done to our winning teams! 😁👍🏽
Well done 5G on creating some super gymnastic sequences. We created a checklist to help us and worked so well in pairs or small groups!
This term we are looking at shapes and measures. We have learnt that there are 360 degrees in a full turn, 180 degrees in a half turn and 90 degrees in a quarter turn or right angle. Using this, we had to find and solve 20 clues around the playground on this lovely sunny morning. Well done to T and Infor winning and getting them all right!
We have had a great week - all based around science! We have explored using science investigations and even had some Year 6 children come and show us some really cool science demonstrations!
We used out STEM skills to try and build the tallest unsupported tower using spaghetti and marshmallows!
