I hope you are enjoying the start of autumn! To get into the seasonal spirit we went on an autumn forage and collected all kinds of interesting leaves, flowers, acorns and conkers to make some tactile art . The children worked well in groups and got their creative juices flowing to create some beautiful pieces, including a wonderful Autumn Fairy and a 3D symmetrical butterfly carefully made by Soma ,which had an inspiring attention to detail.
In Maths we have moved onto Addition and Subtraction , practicing the formal column method which we will be applying to problem solving.
The children have really got stuck into Science this term, our topic being the 'Human Body' and so far we've covered the parts and functions of the digestive system and naming the different types of teeth which we had great fun modelling from Plasticine.
On Wednesday mornings 4R are taking part in outdoor sports lessons, led by a trained coach from Manchester City who has been especially impressed with Archeet's hard work and resilience, as the children practise fundamental movement skills and build their fitness. These sessions will continue for the duration of the year so please ensure that your child has an outdoor PE kit and appropriate footwear (pumps or trainers).
