3C have worked extremely hard to make their own story books. They also learned how to sew, and made their very own stuffed penguin!
On Monday, we invited Reception to have a story picnic with us. All the children had a fabulous afternoon.
We looked at lots of different types of fruits this week. We predicted what their seeds might look like, then made observations once they were cut open. The best bit was tasting the fruits at the end of the lesson!
Which was your favourite fruit?
As part of Science Week, we made lava lamps. We had lots of fun learning about reactions and the densities of different liquids.
On World Book Day, we read the story: 'Du Iz Tak?' This story was about a butterfly waiting to come out of it's cocoon. The other insects built a tree house whilst they waited for the butterfly. The book was written in a made up language and some children thought it was the language of the insects. In the day we wrote our own insect stories, designed our own bug houses and planted some seeds.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have been learning all about magnets. In our lessons, we have conducted experiments to test magnetic materials and have created a magnetic fishing game, to show magnetic forces acting at a distance.
