Urgh! 2S have been learning all about germs.
So, what are germs?
Germs are tiny microbes or living organisms. They are everywhere and can be spread easily from person to person. But remember, not all germs are bad. Some types of germs can be found in bread and cheese. Some germs can also be found in medicines that are used to make us better.
We carried out a science investigation to find out how the bad germs are spread and the importance of washing our hands regularly. As germs are invisible we used glitter instead.
We worked in partners for our investigation. Our partner took a pinch of glitter and placed it on one of our hands. We clenched our hand and when we opened it we noticed that the germs had spread all over our hand. Then we rubbed our hands together and guess what? The germs spread to the other hand. We tried to get rid of the germs with a paper towel but it was very difficult. Instead, we had to wash our hands with soap and water to completely get rid of the germs!
