Have you ever wondered how your lungs work?
In 2L today we investigated what our lungs do. We found out that they help us breathe. We know that we breathe in oxygen and breath out Carbon dioxide. They work like two big balloons. When we breathe in they inflate and when we breathe out they deflate. We made our own set of lungs using balloons to demonstrate what happens when we breathe in and out.
If your lungs were opened out flat they would fill an entire tennis court!
Your right lung is slightly larger than your left lung.
The average person breathes in the equivalent of 13 pints of air every minute.
