Today in Gymnastics the children were learning to make different bridge shapes. We looked at some pictures of real bridges in the Uk and talked about the shapes we could see.
Next, the children had to think about how to make different bridge shapes with their bodies. The children took their weight on their hands and feet and held the shape. It was rather tricky but I was very impressed with how well the children tried.
Afterwards the children worked in pairs to make different bridge shapes. Can you spot a forward bridge or a backwards bridge?
We also played a game of trains and bridges. This was lots of fun and it helped us to remember to keep the tension in our bodies when making a bridge shape.
