Here is the start of one of our scratch projects.
We dressed up in our best party clothes ..... don't we all look so well!
What a fun filled Friday we had in Year 2.
To celebrate the Royal Wedding we had a Royal Fair day. It was so much fun playing on the inflatables and dressing up in our party clothes. Megan and Harry even found time to pop in! :)
What was your most favourite game?
We are starting to read some traditional tales linked in with our Castles Topic.
So far we have read Little Red Riding Hood - We enjoyed reading different versions of the same story. After reading , acting the story out and discussing the characters we had a letter from the police!
They wanted us to pretend that we were Little Red Riding Hood and to tell them everything that happened at Grandma's house. We made sure to write about how we felt when we entered Grandma's cottage and how we were suspicious when we noticed Grandma's favourite flower pot smashed.
Ms Lindsay will post some of the best work below.
Now we have started to read Jack and the Beanstalk. We discussed how characters from LRRH and Jack and the Beanstalk are similar. We will continue with the story next week.
In the meantime, you can listen to some other traditional tales which I have linked below. Which one is your favourite?
Well done to all the children logging into My Maths do do their online homework.
Didan , Pranay , Yaseen and Bilal - You four have completed the most tasks so far! Well done !
Kyron , Adam, Shahd , Shada and Sofia you are doing so well and only need to do a few more tasks to catch up the leaders. You can do it! :)
Come on everyone else ...you only need to do one or two tasks a week. :)
This week we have been exploring money, how to recognise and count the coins.
I was very impressed with how much the children knew. Nearly everyone could select the coins to pay for a given item.
We've also been investigating if there is more than one way to make a given total.
How many ways can you make 10p? How many ways can you make 20p?
On Wednesday we decided to visit Ms Lindsay's shop. The children had to select two or three items to buy and then add them together. Everyone thought Ms Lindsay's shop was very cheap!
Over the Bank Holiday weekend could you visit a real shop and pay for an item? Are you able to pick the right coins ? Can you check you've been given the correct change?
Don't forget to Email Ms Linday a photograph and I can put it on the blog! :)
