This week we went on our fantastic beach trip! We sang songs on the coach, had our class picnic in the sand and even got an ice cream from Mr Wheeldon! The weather was beautiful and we had smiles on our faces all day. Thank you to our lovely parent helpers for making it such a special day. I think most of year 1 slept on the coach back to school! What was your favourite part? Miss B X
A huge well done to all of 1B for taking part in Sports Day last week. You all tried your best and what was lovely to see was how supportive the class was of each other. Well done all! Again, thank you to all of our fabulous supporters that came to cheer us on and brave the heat! Enjoy our sporty pics. I am so proud of you all! X
What a fantastic trip to Blue Planet! We loved learning about a wide range of sea creatures and divers too! Children in 1B were able to go in an under water tunnel, watch a diving show and even touch a real starfish, wow! We had a brilliant day and thank you to all of our lovely parent helpers for coming with us on the day! What was your favourite part of the day?

This afternoon it was our whole school Eid Party! Wahoo!
In 1B we ate lots of party food, played some games and most importantly we did a lot of dancing! Thank you so much to everyone in 1B for bringing in lots of treats to make our celebrations extra special. I hope everyone enjoyed their Eid celebrations over the weekend!
After an exciting day yesterday, we finally found out who had visited our classroom. It was four little penguins! The penguins were lost and they were trying to find their way back home. It sounds just like an exciting story we have been reading in 1B....
Something very strange happened in 1B today...
We came back from lunch to find some melted ice, some fish on tables and some very snowy footprints! We searched the whole school and decided that a penguin may have been the culprit!
I wonder if the penguin will visit again....
Hello 1B! I hope you're all having a lovely half term and enjoying the sunshine! As you asked, here is the link for you to play your favourite phonics game if you want to.
Can you read the words by yourself and then decide whether they are alien words or real words?

1B have been working extremely hard in Maths this week. We are exploring multiplication by adding the same amount together lots of times. We know how important it is for amounts to be equal which means the same. Well done 1B!
This week we have been writing for a special purpose. We are writing to inform the rest of Key Stage 1 all about Polar bears! 1B now know so many amazing and unusual facts about these beautiful creatures. Let's see how many you can remember! Did you know...
This term we are lucky enough to have Anchor sessions with Ed! We are working on the past and present tense - what can you remember?
I am so proud of all of 1B for taking part in the Daily Mile Challenge - you have all worked so hard and have tried your best every single day! You have all been so amazing, that we have been chosen as the winners of the Daily Mile Competition! As a prize, 1B will get to go on an exciting and active class trip! We will work together and vote fairly to decide where we would like to go...WATCH THIS SPACE!
Over the last 6 weeks, 1B has been lucky enough to have half a day of Forest School on a Wednesday with Sarah and Aly. Over the last few weeks the children have built dens, made personal necklaces, and have planted their own trees! The children thoroughly enjoyed being part of these sessions each week and became really confident in using our outdoor learning area.
Thank you so much to all of the parents who came and took part in the children's last session with Sarah and Aly, where we even cooked bread over our very own fire! It was delicious! It was lovely to see the children show you how much they have learnt over the last 6 weeks, with such independence and enthusiasm!
