Good morning Year 2!
I don't know about you, but I'm starting to feel like a bit of an expert when it comes to multiplication.
Today we're focusing on counting in twos. Easy you may think! However, it is such an important skill and we need to be really confident doing it. The video provides lots of opportunities to skip count in twos. It even uses a Gattegno Chart- do you remember using one in class?
For the practice activity you are challenged to group as many things as you can into twos e.g. pairs of shoes, pairs of socks, Lego pieces, cutlery, 2p coins...anything really!
If you're still struggling counting in twos then try and practise skip counting as much as you can. You could count in twos forwards and backwards every time you walk up and down the stairs.
I think today's lesson is really fun, so let me know in the comments what kind of things you grouped into twos in your house.
