Good morning Year 2!
I've not been on here for a while so it's good to be back and I hope you're all well.
You may have seen in the news that recently there have been a lot of protests all around the world and lots of talk about 'Black Lives Matter'. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world is treated fairly and lots of people are feeling very angry about this. This has been happening for a very long time. I had a chat with my children about it and they felt really sad that people were treated differently and badly just because of the colour of their skin.
I read to them a book about an amazing black lady called Rosa Parks who made a stand against black people being treated unfairly in America over fifty years ago.
I've included a link to a page with three different videos for you to watch. The first and second one are particularly good. You may want to watch it with an adult so they talk to you about it as you watch it. It is really important to talk to an adult or older sibling about how you're feeling.
I've also included a video of the book that I read to my children.
After all of this, could you draw me a picture of what happened? You could draw a picture of the bus or the jail, or just Rosa Parks. Could you write some key facts underneath it? Tell me a fact in the comment box below. As always, if you want to email me anything then please do at email@example.com
