Good Morning Year 2!
Today I want you to remember all of the key features a diary needs because you are going to have a go at writing your own diary entry!
If you don't have a diary, don't worry you can always use a pen and paper. If you don't have paper, you can type it and email it to me.
I cant wait to read them! If you want to check your own work, use the checklist below to mark it. Good luck guys!
Today you are going to create your own shapes.
You will need paper, a pencil, a ruler, and some colours if you have them.
Use your pencil and ruler to draw lines on your paper. You can draw as many as you like going in different directions across your paper (see below)
What shapes can you find in your picture?
Can you find a three sided shape? How many can you find?
Can you find a four sided shape? How many can you find?
Can you find a five sided shape? How many can you find?
Use your colours to colour the shapes you have found. You could colour all 3 sided shapes one colour and all the four sided shapes another colour.
Well done everyone for bridging back and remembering the key features of a diary entry yesterday!
If you want to refresh your memory. Check out this simple Powerpoint below!
Today I am going to show you my special diary about what I got up to yesterday during Lockdown and how I am feeling. You are going to be the teachers today by marking my work and letting me know what special diary features you spotted in my diary entry.
You can write down your answers, email them to me or even leave them as a comment below.
Enjoy and shhh! Remember it's top secret!
2D shape pictures
Can you create a picture from 2D shapes?
There are some ideas below to get you started.
You could draw them and colour them. Or you could cut out shapes and stick them.
This week we will be exploring diary entries!
Think back to when we were in school learning about Toby and the Great Fire of London. As a class, and then by yourselves you all wrote wonderful diary entries pretending to be Toby. A diary is like a recount, but it can be top secret and include information about your feelings.
Your challenge today is to remember what the key features of a diary are. You could write down what a good diary needs, you could email it to me or you could even leave your answer in the comments for your friends to see.
Good luck! I wonder how many features you can remember...
