Good morning Year 1. We hope that everyone is well this morning. Miss Hardy and I will really miss you all while we are having to stay at home, but we hope that you will join us on school days here on Google Classroom or on the School Blog to complete the tasks that we set for you. We will be assigning the same work for both classes, 1H and 1P to complete. It doesn't matter which teacher sets the work, please complete all of the work we set you. Stay safe and have a good day. Mrs Papatheodorou
Welcome to your last year 1 maths lesson! For today’s lesson you are going to be comparing the volume of containers using capacity vocabulary. Have fun!
Good morning year 1 I hope you’re all well! We’ve reached the last day of term and although you haven’t been at school, you’ve certainly been working very hard. Well done to you and your grown ups! For today’s lesson I’d like you to log on to Purplemash, select topics and under paint projects you’ll see ‘my family.’ I’d like you to create a picture of you and your family to go with the work you did this week for your new teacher. You could include family members that don’t live with you, but are special to you too. I’m looking forward to seeing your beautiful work!
This week you’ve created some wonderful work on your favourite memories of year 1 and things you’d like to do over summer. For today’s lesson I’d like you to think about what job you’d like to do when you’re an adult. You’ll need to logon to PurpleMash, select ‘topics’ and you’ll see writing projects ‘when I grow up’ and ‘my ambition.’ I’m looking forward to reading your work! www.purplemash.com/sch/wilbraham
Good morning everyone! For today’s ICT lesson you’re going to have a go at a coding game called ‘air traffic control.’ Once you’ve logon on, select ‘computing’ and then click on ‘air traffic control.’ Your job is to give the plane a range of commands. You have some videos to watch and remember to click the ‘hint’ button for instructions. See how many challenges you can complete. Have fun!
Following on from yesterday’s lesson, you’re going to continue learning about capacity. You’re going to need a cup and an empty bottle or jug. You’ll also need a paper and pencil. See how many star words you can use when comparing your containers. Have fun!
Your teachers have really missed being able to teach you all at school since March this year. Even so we have some wonderful memories of the time we spent with our classes before lock down and we will also remember the wonderful work you have been doing on line. For today's literacy, I would like you to think back over your time in Year 1 and try to remember all your favourite things. Think about your friends and your teachers, think about your favourite lessons and your favourite games and activities. What was your favourite school dinner? Do you remember our trip to Eureka and our walk around the local area for our Geography topic? Make a list of your favourite things from Year 1 and then use them to create your own Year 1 Memory Page. Have a look at the templates I have attached. If you have a printer, you can use one of these or you can copy it onto paper or into your book. If you are feeling creative, you can create your own with your own subheadings to suit your favourite memories. I can't wait to see your Year 1 Memory Pages!
