This half term we have been learning all about life under the sea. We have read lots of books such as 'Fantastic Fish' and 'Hooray for Fish'. We have enjoyed writing about life in the sea and creating lots of art work which you can see on our topic board in class and in the stairwell in the main school building. This is what it looks like, lots of staff in school have commented on how amazing it is!
We have been using drama to help us retell short stories written by other young children. We also had a go at making up our own stories and acting them out. Everybody had a go at getting onto our virtual stage and being a character or an objects in the stories. It is great fun and gives us the skills we need to write our own stories in the future.
Our gymnastics sessions happen every Wednesday morning. It is vital children have the correct clothing in school for safety reasons. Changing into our PE kit is an important skill we need to learn. At first it is really tricky and we may not get it quite right. Sometimes our clothes get mixed up so it is VERY important that everything has our name written on it!
It is worth it though because we love our gymnastics sessions. So far we have learnt how to jump off a small table and land correctly, how to do a pencil and curled roll, how to carry the equipment safely and how to do a forward roll.
Another lesson we have really been enjoying is ICT. Each Thursday we go to the compute suite in main school and practise using computers to make artwork, type and play fun games. Some of us are beginning to learn how to use a mouse and keyboard and even how to log into the programs by ourselves!
