We had an amazing time on our school trip to Chester Zoo on Wednesday. The children's behaviour was fantastic, we were very proud of them. We didn't manage to see everything that we had wanted to, but we saw lots of amazing animals and creatures. We learnt lots of new things and saw things some of us had never seen before!
Here are a few photos from the day.
And here is some of the amazing work we have managed to produce so far. The children were so enthusiastic to write about the trip and paint pictures of the animals!
This week we have been emerging ourselves in all things Dragon!
We made a simple story map of the story and retold it using actions. This helps us to remember the beginning, middle and end of the story as well as being fun.
We have also been making stories up about dragons (using the figures in the small world area), making collages of dragons (using different textures of materials to make scales) and writing speech bubbles for the dragon in the story.
In maths we have been learning all about the number '12'. We love watching the Numberblocks on cbeebies! We can now count to 12, write the number 12, share 12 between 2 and represent the number 12 in lots of different ways (eg using numicon, tally marks, drawings, 10 frames). Next week we will be learning how to make different arrays using the number 12.
Homework this week is to practise tricky words. These are words that cannot be sounded out so we need to learn how to read and write them from memory.
Enjoy the long weekend, hopefully the weather will cheer up!
