It's a while since our blog was updated so here is a very quick catch up from last half-term.
We enjoyed a visit from the nurse who told us why it is important to wash our hands and how do it properly. She then put some special gel on our hands. We went to wash it off using the actions she had shown us. Then we put our hands under a special light to see if we had done a good job. If we could see some gel left on our hands we had to try again!!
In Maths we have been learning how we can represent numbers in different ways. We used objects, money, ten frames, numicon and more. We enjoyed making number boards to show our numbers in lots of different ways.
We also worked really hard to practise our Christmas performance of The Very Hopeless Camel. Some of us had lines to speak, some of us were acting or dancing and some of us were the singers.
The children were all fantastic and did a great job, so I would like to say a hug THANK YOU to them all! We hope you enjoyed watching it.
At the very end of term we enjoyed a party together. Thank you to anybody who send in food donations. As always, we had lots of lovely food to share. We even had a very special visitor. Santa Claus came to visit us in our classroom and brought us all a little gift!
Finally, the children enjoyed watching a pantomime performed by the grown-ups in school. It was called 'The Grinch who Stole Christmas'. Everyone thought is was very funny and enjoyed shouting 'Booooo' at the Grinch when he was naughty.
I hope everybody enjoyed the holiday. The children all seem to be refreshed and ready to start learning again. This term our topic is Animals. We have lots of exciting things planned including a trip!
Today we started our extra PE sessions. Manchester City Football Club coaches will visit us every week to teach us football skills. We will be outside for these sessions so it is important that the children have a tracksuit and trainers. We will also start our gymnastics lessons next week. The children MUST have the correct kit. A letter has been sent home with the details.
