This week we have been talking about Bonfire Night. We learnt about the history of the celebration and what kind of things happen at this time of year. We have been building out own mini bonfires, with electric tealight candles, and role playing toasting marshmallows. We have watched firework displays on Youtube and talked about the shapes, colours and sounds. We even had our own, school firework display on the field. We then created our own firework collages.
We then had a look at the famous artwork by Jackson Pollock and learnt how he created his 'Spatter' paintings with brushes, sticks, kitchen utensils and pipettes. We had a go at creating out own, huge, class piece of art using the same techniques. It was lots of fun!
