We hope you all had a lovely weekend and are enjoying this glorious weather. We have a busy week ahead in reception. This week we will continue to learn all about pirates. We will be reading tea time for pirates and talking about what pirates like to eat. This week we will be having a visit from Ed from anchor education. We are really looking forward to seeing him.
We are also going to have our weekly Manchester United session where we will practice our football skills.

Can we just take a second to remind everyone that due to the very warm weather we advise for ALL children to have sun cream applied at home before coming to school. We also recommend that children have sun hats on to protect their little faces from the suns rays. Thank you for your continued support!
This week we have been very busy. We have started our new topic pirates. we have read the book The pirates next door and have talked and written about the characteristics of pirates. We have also been talk about fiction and Non - fiction books. We now know that fiction books are not factual like fairy tales and story books and Non - fiction books are factual like how to brush your teeth.
We have also enjoyed joining in with our weekly Manchester united sessions. This week we had to step in and out of a step ladder without touching it. This was a very tricky task indeed!
We have also been very busy getting ready for sports day. We have been having ago at all the races to see which ones we like the best. We are very exciting for Sports day on Thursday 6th July 2017.

Can we take a moment to welcome everyone back to school after our half term break. We hope you all had a relaxing time and are ready for our final term together. This term is going to be very busy with us starting a new topic and getting ready for year 1.
Our topic this term is going to be pirates. We are going to talk about what pirates look like and what they do. At the end of the term we are going to go to the beach for our final school trip together. We are really looking forward to doing this fantastic topic.
This week we have been very busy. We have been spending a lot of time in our outdoor wild area. We have had lots of fun plants bushes and flowers and have even grown some herbs. We all tried coriander and some of us liked the taste but some of us thought it was disgusting!!! We also planting some potatoes and when they have grown we are going to make crisps out of them.
We have also been extremely busy completing our end of term writing assessments. We have been very impressed with the standard of work the children are producing. Their pieces of work show just how hard they have all been working and we are all incredibly proud of the children's achievements.
We have all had a fab start to our term. This term we have been learning all about Zoo animals. We have been doing lots of writing and drawings all about the things we now know about Zoo animals.
Did you know that when a penguin slides on its stomach it is call tobogganing?
Did you know that a flamingo stands on one leg because half its body is asleep at a time?
We also had the most amazing time on our school trip to Chester Zoo. We saw lots of amazing animals and learnt so much about them.
As you can see from all the pictures we had a fabulous time! We now look forward to doing lots more work about our trip to Chester Zoo.
This term we are also going to be working with Manchester united football club so watch this space to see what we get up to!!!
We have had the most fabulous time this term! We have been learning all about Space! we have learnt that there are lots of planets in our solar system. Did you know that planet Earth is the third planet away from the sun? Did you know that the sun is actually just a really big star?
To help us learn all about space we had a special visitor from mad science who came and showed us lots of cool stuff in a special assembly.
We have also been incredibly busy working on our ICT skills......Logging on a computer when your 4 or 5 is not easy!
We love being in Reception and we are always busy working around the classrooms.
We have also worked that hard in gymnastic that we are now clever and brave enough to get the climbing frame out to work on.
Next term we are going to be doing outdoor games so can we remind everyone that the children will need their kits in school on Mondays!
We are also going to be starting a new Topic which is Zoo animals!
We are very excited to go on our school trip to Chester Zoo! Can we please remind adults to sign the consent forms, give them back to your child's class teacher and pay for the trip at the office.
Finally can we just take a minute to thank the children for all their hard work this term! They have all been absolute super stars!!! Have a wonderful and safe break and we shall see you all next term.

We have worked very hard all term and want to share with you some of the exciting things we have done.
RC really enjoyed their trip to the park. They had lots of fun on the play equipment and saw ducks, geese and even saw a heron.
In reception we have lots of fun outdoors! This term we have been enjoying painting outside! It gets a little messy but it is so much fun!!!!
Next term our topic is going to be all about the author Nick Sharatt! We are looking forward to reading some of his book's, like There's a Shark in the park!

This week we have started our new topic. This term we are going to be learning all about fantasy worlds. We have started this topic by reading the book Aliens love underpants. We have really enjoyed reading this book and all thought is was very funny. We look forward to learning more about it next week.
This week we also went to the library. We listen to a funny lady ready lots of different stories. We were all given a book called 'Disco kitchen' that we are allowed to keep forever.

This term our topic is fantasy world. We are going to be reading lots of fun books starting with Aliens Love Underpants.
We are also going to be starting our gymnastics lessons and so can we please recommend that PE kits are brought in on a monday and left in school untill the Friday.
PE kits are as follows...............White tshirt and blue shorts or leggings. Trainers will not be needed at this stage as gymnastics is done in bear feet.
We are also going to be continuing to work with Anchor education who will help us with both our drama and literacy skills.
