What a fabulous session today. We learnt how to whittle wood to help make our fire for some yummy hot chocolate.
We went exploring in the forest today and found Waterfall Woods and what fun we had!!
We scrambled down to get to it and then stood under the flow checking out how waterproof our clothing really was!!!
My second new group this term. We are looking forward to exploring and seeing what the forest has to offer us.
We discovered in our first session as a group the love of ropes - be it making swings or making shelters. We had a fabulous time exploring them.
What a great way to start the term by meeting new friends and exploring the forest.
We discovered as a group we love to climb and slide!
We discovered natural clay and had a fabulous time squeezing, rolling and moulding it.
We have had so much fun exploring the forest over our forest school days. We discovered where the dragon likes to hide and sleep as well as some super slopes to scramble up!
As a group we discovered how well we worked together and that we are all as adventurous as one another!
What a different kind of day today is! Sun is shining and no snow anywhere.

What a great day to start our Forest School sessions. Inches and inches of snow to play in!
We have discovered that as a group we make amazing climbers and have so much fun doing it.
It was incredibly cold up at the forest today but that did mean that we managed to find some super icicles and shards of ice.

What a wonderful first day together as a group. We spent the morning exploring our Forest School space in particular the ripples we could make in the water.
After some lunch we headed out into the bigger forest where we found the magic wishing tree.
Time for a bit of scrambling! Who would make it to the top?
Time to help the Forest Ranger Tim put some bird boxes up that the other group had made. Tim taught us which direction the bird boxes need to be facing to keep the eggs safe. We used a compass to make sure we chose trees facing the correct way.

We started the day by meeting Tim the Forest Ranger. We talked about what animals we might find in the forest and what we could make that might help them. Tim showed us a bird box and explained that we were going to make some for the forest and school. Tim then demonstrated how to make the bird box.
Time for us to do it now!
Now time for us to paint our amazing bird boxes so that they blend in with their surroundings.
Off to explore the forest now. We had great fun playing 1,2,3 where are you? We discovered some amazing hiding places. We even came across the dragons cave but unfortunately he wasn't home. We will try again next time.
