We started the new year off with a gorgeous day in the forest today.
We had so much fun exploring our forest school space. We worked brilliantly as a group to make our shelters for lunch. We then enjoyed a lovely cup of hot chocolate to warm ourselves up before heading off to find Waterfall woods.
We have discovered as a group we absolutely love water!! We found the waterfall and had an amazing time climbing down to it - might be a better description to say sliding our way down to it!!! Before splashing our way through it. We then followed the stream through the forest, doing our best to balance our way across the rocks not without a few fall downs - splash!!
Today we were able to get away for a lovely one-off visit to the Alderly Edge forest! Everyone was ready after we had done a practice-run in the on-site area the week before; and we were able to put our exploring, building and climbing skills safely to the test. The watery areas were frozen over, and we had lots of fun breaking up the ice with sticks. The day started off a little frosty and cold, but with our extra layers we felt very warm and comfortable. Great work everyone!
We began our time in the forest by exploring together and getting to know one another.
Today we had lots of fun making picture frames and representations of ourselves. Can you spot the eyes and mouths?
What a wonderful day for exploring the forest. We found some wonderful things growing and hiding in the forest today. Can you recognise any of them?
What a wonderful way to finish our sessions together - playing in the sunshine.
We learnt how to whittle wood so we could make a fire to roast our marshmallows over.
We used our skills of knot tying to build some swings which was lots of fun!
We finished the session with making a picture frame and recording what we had done during our forest school sessions. It was a wonderful celebration to finish with.
We have had a fabulous second day as a group.
We explored our Forest school site, adding to the bridge that was already there making it more stable.
We enjoyed playing 'find the tree' where we worked in pairs with one blindfolded and we guided them around the forest.
What a fabulous afternoon we had down in Waterfall Woods. We slid our way down to the waterfall where we splashed about for ages!!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
