The Governors have a wide range of responsibilities for the school, including its overall values, the School Development Plan, the budget and staff appointments. They work closely with the Headteacher and staff and maintain regular links with all the main areas of school life and the local community.
The Governors formal meetings include the Full Governing Body meeting, a Resources Committee and a Children’s Committee which are held once a term.
School Governors come from a variety of backgrounds. The school Governing Body consists of Local Authority employees, members of the community, staff in school and parents/carers of children attending the school. All are either directly elected or co-opted to the Governing Body.
Our Governors are not expected to be experts in educational matters. That’s the responsibility of the Headteacher and the teaching staff of the school.
