As we were learning about the Great Fire of London, we had a look at a poem about this historic event written by Paul Perro - have a look for yourself!
What a super-creative few days we have had! While 8 members of 5G went on the residential to London, we decided to have a mini-topic of our own. We researched London itself and explored the Great Fire of London. The children had to make decisions of how they wanted to work on the topic and what they could use to show their findings. So, we have modelled using paper, card, clay and lego and created some great London landmarks. A few children explored animation apps and others used the computers to find answers to questions they had. All our work is on the classroom wall for our friends to see when they return on Monday - we hope you had a great time! We did!
We were very privileged to have a visit from Carly Paoli this morning. She is a singer who has performed in many grand places and with some very famous people! She came with her music director, Liz, and we took part in a workshop where we learned to warm up our voices and join in parts of a song. We all agreed that Carly's singing was awesome and went on to enjoy looking at YouTube videos of her other performances.
Thank you for coming to see us, Carly!
