I have had a lot of inquiries about homework in 5G this year - so I thought I would provide some useful links for you to access the online homeworks and tools:
If you would like to help your child progress in reading and writing, please help them to learn the spellings from the Year 3 and 4 list by heart! We also want our children to develop a love for reading, so encourage them to read for pleasure! Talk to them about their book - no matter what it is! Why not enjoy looking at some picture books and asking them to unlock the meanings and messages contained in the illustrations?
With several children in our class heading off to London next week, Miss Gee has been thinking about whether she thinks a school trip to London is a good idea at all!
These are the reasons she was doubting:
Children will miss three days of lessons! Learning is important; more important than having fun!
It’s a long way away. Too far for children to travel, surely?
Children will be apart from their families.
So we had to work together to persuade her that London is a great idea for a school residential! We had a very limited time to plan, write and practise our speeches. What do you think?
We have been using our new writing process ‘IPEELL’ to explore persuasive writing. Only two weeks ago, we wrote letters to the Prime Minister... they were not brilliant! Now we better understand the structure of a persuasive text, we have planned and written to here again. The results have been AMAZING!
Welcome back to another great year and another great class! We are going to work really hard this year so we have been looking at motivation... have a look at our motivational messages! We have been thinking about how we can encourage each other when things get challenging. With a positive out, look, we can do anything! 😁
