We have been learning about the life and works of Pablo Picasso. The children have been studying 'Cubism', a style of art developed by Picasso himself. We looked at a number of Cubist portraits by Picasso and other artists then practiced drawing our own by following step by step instructions, using a grid.
We tested the different ways to colour with oil pastels to achieve different effects, then did a second draft of our portraits , this time adding 2D shapes to make them more abstract and interesting.
