Make a cube, then attach wool to an edge and the opposite vertices. How many strings will you need?
This challenge drove us all a bit batty this afternoon!
We had a wonderful time on the beach yesterday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous all day. Although the bus journey was long, the children enjoyed chatting...loudly...for the whole duration!
They played games and ran around on the beach before lunch. We had to have an early lunch because they were all sooo hungry by 9:30!!!!
After lunch they had ice cream. It was all so nice. The return bus journey was just as loud!
Check out our pictures!
It was announced today that Team Stripy won the race for medals at Sports' Day last week. Well done to everybody. Here are our medal winners!
Today was such a lovely day that we decided to have a picnic on the field. We all made cucumber sandwiches (they are delicious) before we went outside.
We listened to the next chapter of our class story whilst we enjoyed our sandwiches. There was even an ice lolly each to cool us down.
Then is was time to pay. We could read, draw, play with the hoops and footballs or have a go at skipping. It was lovely being with all of our friends.
It was sports' day on Friday, and what great weather we had! We got ready and headed out to the field as soon as we got to school.
We had great fun racing!
We even won some races.
Today was sports day and what wonderful weather we had! We had a great time and it was fantastic to see so many parents and careers enjoying the fun with us. The children all did brilliantly and some even won medals. Take a look at the pictures of this great event...
Go Team Stripy!
Just look at Team Stripy go!
Today we were visited by a Violetta. This is an orchestra with on,y string instruments. There were violins, violas and cellos. The people playing were just a bit older than the children in 3w. They were amazing and we really enjoyed their performances.
We even got to try some of the instruments ourselves!
Some children came from year 3 in Burtonwood today. They had a tour of the school and were impressed with how big we are and how many stairs there are in our school. They went out to play with us and we made lots of new friends.
Before lunch, we went into the new hall to make Flying Cotton Balls. The challenge was to use the materials we had to help the cotton balls reach their target. All of the children worked together really well. Some teams were very successful, other teams less so! We all had lots of fun.
We had a great time this afternoon at our Eid party. We enjoyed the delicious party food which parents sent in. We took part in party games and we danced, danced danced!
Today, ten children from 3W headed off to see our friends at Burtonwood Primary School. We had a tour around the school. It is very different from our school. there is a huge playground and they don't have any stairs! We went out to play, it was raining but we still had fun!
We went into their wood and sat under a shelter. It kept us very dry. We made friends with some of the children and we made dream catchers together. It was lovely.
After that we went for our dinner and then it was time to come home. We all had a great day and we are looking forward to seeing our friends again next week.
We were treated to a visit today. Two storybook characters came straight out of the pages of Roald Dahl's book 'The Twits', and caused mayhem in our class! They gobbled wormy spaghetti, picked 'food' from their hair and even turned us all to red on the behaviour chart! Mr and Mrs Twit are certainly memorable people!
We wish all of our families and friends who are celebrating Eid this weekend, a very happy time!
Enjoy yourselves! We look forward to hearing about your celebrations next week. We are all looking forward to our Eid parties in school.
We performed our poem for the rest of year 3 today. We did a fabulous job!
Kinney group have learnt the next part of our class poem today. They decided which words to stress and where to pause to make the poem as scary as possible. They made up some actions to help remember the words and to make it interesting for our listeners. Have a go at learning this bit tonight.
