We still have quite a few children from 3S that haven't accessed google classroom yet. This is the best way that the teachers in year 3 can set tasks and keep you learning whilst school is closed.
You can also post messages and keep in touch with your friends too.
Ask your grown up at home to check their emails - an email was sent with instructions on how to access the classroom. If you're still struggling then drop me an email and I'll see if I can sort it out for you.
Good afternoon everyone,
Learning is going to be a bit different for a while... Please check your school email and join our Year 3 Classroom on Google Classroom so you can receive tasks while you are learning at home.
We hope you will enjoy them!
If you have difficulty logging into your school email address let me know and I'll try and get it sorted as soon as I can.
Remember, you can still access lots of games on Purple Mash, Education City and Topmarks maths games.
In art we have been learning how to use charcoal to create different effects. Look at our efforts...
In our PE lessons we are learning about health related fitness. This week we have looked at how stamina affects our ability to exercise. To test our stamina we took part in some circuit training. We had 5 stations and we had to complete each exercise for 45 seconds. This doesn't sound very long but some exercises were harder than others. Tell your grown ups at home what exercise was at each station and which one you found the most difficult.
We had a very lively assembly today singing lots of grammar songs.
Here are the videos so that you can sing along at home too.
In literacy this week we have been learning about adverbs. We are using adverbs to enhance our description of a setting.
Remember, not all adverbs end with ly. George from Anchor explains some of those words that are not ly.
In Art we are learning how to draw Egyptian figure heads. We started off by looking at some portraits and talking about profile position. We watched a video that explained the importance of sketching using guidelines. Then we had a a go at sketching our friend in a profile position.
This is the video we watched.
It was wonderful to see so many children bring in their favourite book from home. The children really enjoyed sharing their books and reading with friends. We will have another Reading for Pleasure session later on next half term. Ms Stapleton also brought in some of her favourite books too.
An Ancient Egyptian Tomb appeared in our classroom this week. We took turns to explore the tomb and look for Ancient Egyptian artefacts. Later on, we used books and the Internet to conduct some research about the artefacts. We learnt lots of new information about our topic.
