Our theme as a school this year was
'LOOKING AFTER OUR ENVIRONMENT'
Every class in every year spent the day reading and immersing ourselves into the story book 'Tidy' by Emily Gravett. A story about a badger named Pete who loves to tidy his local area, maybe too much! He tidies and tidies until there is nothing left to tidy and as a result he has no home or any food.
In year 3 we used this story as a stimulus to discuss what was important about nature and how things don't have to be matching or perfect to be beautiful. We are all different and that is what makes us special.
All of the children made a huge effort with the day and were enthusiastically discussing the focus book as well as lots of their other favourites.
Goodbye until next year World Book Day!!!
