In Maths we have been learning all about position and direction. Some of the mathematical language we learnt included: left and right, forwards and backwards, turns, rotation, clockwise and anti-clockwise, quarter/half/three-quarter/full turn and right angles. Wow! That's a lot of words to remember!
The first thing we had to do was direct a blindfolded partner to a spot using that language-it was really challenging!
In the next lesson we worked in partners to direct a figure to a specific point on a grid. However to make it more difficult we put obstacles in the way. It was really important to think about clockwise and anti-clockwise as well as how many turns were required.
In the final lesson we worked with bee bots which was really fun. We had to work in groups to direct them.
