Mr Wheeldon thinks that a 2-digit number can only be partitioned one way. For example, 63= 60 + 3. However we have proved him wrong!
We have been using different equipment (bead strings, base ten, bundling straws, abacus and numicon) to show that numbers can be partitioned in more than one way.
Some of us have even been able to spot a pattern without having to use equipment.
Can you continue the pattern?
90 + 4 = 94
80 + 14 = 94
70 + 24 = 94
60 + 34 = 94
