Today it's a very special day! It was great to see so many children dressed up as their favourite book or cartoon characters. Some children noticed that lots of adults in school were wearing red or purple...I wonder why that is?
We started off the day sharing some of our favourite books with friends.
After that we read a book called 'Journey' written and illustrated by Aaron Becker. It's an unusual book because it's wordless which means it has no words in it! However, as Bobby said, "I really like the book because it has no words so you can make up your own story." We then worked in groups to create our backdrops. Later we are going to add characters, sentences, speech bubbles and thought bubbles to them.
Then we worked in groups to create freeze frames of different scenes from the book. We had to work in teams to decide who was going to be what. We also had to think how could we use our bodies in interesting ways. This was really fun especially as Ms Tang put a timer on so we only had a few minutes to work out what to do for each frame!
Did you enjoy reading 'Journey'? Can you explain why you liked it or give reasons for why you didn't like it?
