I hope you're all having a nice rest at home after a busy day in Manchester!
This half-term we are learning all about Manchester and comparing it to Kenya in Africa.
We took the bus to Manchester and walked around the city. We saw familiar buildings and places such as Beetham Tower, China Town and Market Street, but we also took the opportunity to visit new places. Some of the places we saw today included: Manchester Cathedral, National Football Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, Royal Exchange Theatre, Central Library and John Rylands Library. Can you identify them in the photographs?
The adults were so impressed with the behaviour of the children in 2T. We even had strangers in Manchester telling us how well behaved we were- what a fantastic way to represent Wilbraham Primary School.
I really enjoyed visiting Manchester Cathedral as it was such a beautiful and calm special place. I also liked visiting the Manchester Art Gallery and seeing the Lowry paintings in real life. Which place did you like visiting the most?
Today was exciting as everyone was taking part in the Children in Need activities.
We kicked off with some Pudsey Bear picture making during the Stay and Read session. Thanks to all the parents/carers who managed to help . it is much appreciated!!
Wow! What a day!
Today all of Year 2 went to Sky High Adventure. This was the end of our 'Do all superheroes wear a cape?' topic. The teachers wanted to challenge the children to try something new, face a fear and above all, keep persevering!
Mr Williams and I were so impressed with 2T. Quite a few children came to school feeling worried about what they had to do and there were tears. However, almost everyone had a go at everything even though some of it was pretty scary.
We hope you had as much fun as the adults did and next time you face something difficult, think about the time you were at Sky High Adventure.
Today is of course, Bonfire Night! You might be lucky enough to go see some fireworks tonight.
We had a PSHE lesson all about bonfire safety and talked about the importance of keeping ourselves safe when around fireworks. Can you remember what we could do with a sparkler?
After that we did some wonderful art work. Instead of using a paintbrush to paint on the fireworks we used a ....STRAW! Look at how we created our unique fireworks.
Have a look at the finished artwork. I love how each piece has come out so different!
