Wow! I think today has been one of the best trips I've ever been on. I've never been to Beeston Castle and I had so much fun! The weather was absolutely perfect and the children were so well behaved; they really did Wilbraham Primary proud.
My favourite part was climbing up to the top of the hill (phew that was hard work!) and seeing the ruins of the castle, as well as the dry moat which was much bigger than I thought. I liked looking through the arrow slits imagining what it must have been like for the soldiers defending their castle.
Rose asked me, "Is it a motte and bailey castle or a keep and bailey castle?" Could you explain which one it was and why?
What was your favourite part of the trip to Beeston Castle?
This term we have been holding our parent/carer stay and read sessions on a Wednesday morning. This gives an opportunity for different parents/carers to come who may normally be busy on a Friday and it also means Ms Tang and Ms Stapleton can be involved!
It's really important to us that lots of grown ups come and join in as we want to show how fun it is to read. Some of the things we have done so far include: decorating knickers for the Queen, performing poetry for Chinese New Year and making origami hearts for Valentines Day.
Thank you to every grown up who has managed to make it to a session so far. We hope to see many more of you soon.
