On Friday we talked about what remembrance is, and why we think it is important to remember. We learnt that the poppy is a symbol of remembrance following the First World War (1914-1918) and has continued to be used as a mark of respect to all soldiers who have lost their lives fighting for their countries since.
We also spoke about what we will be remembering during the 2 minute silence, that we will observe as a class, at 11am on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month (Armistice Day).
We made the Poppy using paint and Lego and bricks. some children even wanted to draw pictures about what they had learned.
