We have had a great day celebrating world book day.
We shared the book -
We had a great discussion about what we thought would happen to the forest after Pete the badger had dug it all up.
"we need the trees for oxygen"
" where are the animals going to live now?"
"There is nowhere for the birds to make nests"
"there is no food for the animals"
We also made some story maps and some countryside rules to follow whilst out in the forest.
We just wanted to thankyou all for a wonderful first term in our new class. The children have been amazing as has your support.
We hope you enjoyed our Stay and be festive session and sing along on Wednesday as much as the children did.
Have a wonderful two week break and we will see you all to start the new year on Wednesday 8th January.
Miss Morrison and Miss Newton x
We are loving our weekly Anchor lessons! Each Tuesday morning we have a special spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) lesson with George where we play games, sing songs and do drama activities. We have been learning about when and where to use a capital letter and a full stop and have been learning what a noun is. George's songs are really catchy and we are always singing them in class! Can you sing them to someone at home?
Everyone has been working hard to get used to the new routines in Year 1.
This week has been our first full week back and my goodness, we've been busy!
We've been challenging ourselves in all of the different areas of the classroom. Here we are building, creating, exploring, reading, writing, counting and imagining. Take a look...
Welcome to Class 1N's blog page!
Here you will find out lots of information about what is going on and get to look at all of the fabulous work we have been doing.
1N are lucky to have not one, but TWO teachers teaching them!
Miss Newton teaches the class on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and
Miss Morrison teaches the class on a Thursday and Friday.
We also have lots of other adults helping in the class including
Mrs Todd, Mrs Hussain and Mr Carpenter.
Please bring your book bag to school every day. Reading books will be changed twice a week. If you would like more books to take home, there is a lending library every morning before school in the foyer of the main building.
This half term we will be doing Gymnastics and Outdoor Games in P.E.
Our P.E days are a Wednesday and Thursday so please make sure you have your kit! It is a good idea to bring your P.E kit in at the beginning of the week, leave it in school and then take it home at the end of the week.
For your P.E kit you will need: a white t-shirt, blue/black shorts, leggings/jogging bottoms and trainers/pumps.
If you have any questions, please make sure you come and talk to Miss Newton or Miss Morrison.
We are looking forward to a great year ahead!
