This week we had so much fun carrying out our science experiments. Well done to Maison who won an award for scientist of the week.
World book day was such a fun and interesting day for us. We were looking at the book 'Du Is Tak' which we really enjoyed. We soon discovered it was written in the language of bug!
We created our own bugs house and made spider webs. Using bug language was so fun that we created our very own 1N language. Du Is Hof?
Thank you very much for everyone who brought in food and drinks for our festive party. We had an amazing party and we even had a special visitor from the North Pole...HO, HO, HO!!
We love partitioning numbers into tens and ones - we even had a go at partitioning hundreds, tens and ones. Miss Neeson is so proud of us all!
Year 1 had an amazing day on Thursday as Adam came to visit us. Adam was a Paleontologist who knew lots of information about dinosaurs. We became fossil hunters and found lots of different fossils from different dinosaurs! Then we had two very special visitors called Jack and Sophie. We were so relieved when we heard that Jack and Sophie only ate teachers!
We say STOP to bullies!!
Have a look through these photos to see what 1N got up to during anti bullying week.
We are proud to be a happy class filled with amazing friendships.
Year 1 were so lucky last week when we had a special visitor, Stacey who was a nurse. Stacey came to speak with all of Year 1 and told us all about the important job she does. All our questions were answered and Stacy brought in some nurses equipment. We have written lots of interesting work about people who help us. Thank you for visiting us - we loved it!
Twas the night before school started
when all through the town
the parents were cheering
it was a riotous sound.
By eight the kids were washed
and tucked into bed
when memories of homework
filled them with dread.
New pencils, new folders, new notebooks too,
new teachers, new friends, the anxiety grew.
The parents just giggled when they heard of this fright
and shouted upstairs-GO TO BED-IT'S A SCHOOL NIGHT!
