To complete this terms topic 'Where do all the Animals live?' Year 1 were lucky enough to meet lots of exciting animals in school! We met a range of mammals, amphibians and reptiles. Enjoy our funny faces meeting some cool creatures. Well done for all of your hard work this half term 1B!
Wow 1B I love your number bonds to 10 paper chains! Please try and practise your number bonds over the weekend if you can. I wonder who will be the fastest on Monday! Good luck!
We are learning about hot and cold places where animals may live. We also talked about zoo's and how hot and cold climates are sometimes created to suit the needs of an animal.
We even made some zoo's in groups in the construction area! Look how cool they are!
We arrived back at school to find a very important letter telling us to check our special emails, to find a video from Chester Zoo. How exciting! What a fantastic way to start our new topic 'Where do all the animals live?'
Can you help Ed?

It's almost the end of our exciting Dinosaur topic. You guys have loved learning all about dinosaurs and I have been so impressed with how excited you have been all this half term. To finish our fantastic work on Dinosaurs, we had a very special visitor in Wilbraham called Alex, from Bolton Museum. Alex showed us lots of real life dinosaur fossils and we even got to pretend to be dinosaurs! What was your favourite part?
Our special fossils inspired by the discoveries of Mary Anning have turned out brilliant! They are now ready to take home and to show our friends!
Today 1B were lucky enough to have a visit from our school nurse. We explored what it means to have a healthy and balanced diet and where fruit and vegetables come from. 1B tasted a wide range of healthy snacks today, a lot of us tried things for the first time today! (Miss Browning tried an olive!) We agreed that it is ok not to like everything but it is important to always try new food!
We have some very funny faces on our pictures today...do you remember what food you liked or disliked?
